This year again, WINE ENTHUSIAST, the famous US magazine dedicated to wines and spirits, rewards the wines of Cellier des Dauphins.
For the June-July 2020 edition, four Cellier des Dauphins wines are awarded : 90/100 points for the Côtes du Rhône Réserve Rosé 2018 and the Côtes du Rhône Les Dauphins White 2018, and 88/100 points for the Côtes du Rhône Les Dauphins Rosé 2018 and the Côtes du Rhône Les Dauphins Rosé 2019.
These wines are distributed on the US market by the importer Monsieur Touton Selection Ltd.
Cellier des Dauphins 2018 Reserve Rosé (Côtes du Rhône) – 90 POINTS (BEST BUY): Peachy in hue, this full-bodied rosé is delicate on the nose but offers juicy raspberry and red-cherry flavors. A lip-smacking, refreshingly balanced sip, with a hint of minerality on the finish, it’s perfect for summertime quaffing.
Cellier des Dauphins 2018 Les Dauphins Cuvée Spéciale Blanc (Côtes du Rhône) – 90 POINTS (BEST BUY): Hints of smoke and salt lend elegance to this sunny wine full of fresh pineapple, grapefruit and yellow-apple flavors. A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Viognier and 10% Marsanne, it’s a plump, voluminous sip balanced by fresh, citrusy acidity and a subtly mineral finish. The wine is best enjoyed young.
Cellier des Dauphins 2018 Les Dauphins Cuvée Spéciale Rosé (Côtes du Rhône) – 88 POINTS (BEST BUY): Peachy pink in the glass, this freshly concentrated rosé offers pert red cherry, raspberry and watermelon flavors edged by a zesty mineral lift. While it lacks the intensity of the producer’s Reserve rosé bottling, it’s a thirst-quenching, well-priced sip to enjoy all summer long.
Cellier des Dauphins 2019 Les Dauphins Cuvée Spéciale Rosé (Côtes du Rhône) – 88 POINTS (BEST BUY): Crisp raspberry and zesty grapefruit peel introduce this invigorating dry rosé. Made from a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, it’s a thirst-quenching wine showcasing pristine red-berry flavors and puckering kicks of citrus acidity. It’s a great value for a well-made summer quaffer.
