Rich Terroirs

The Cellier des Dauphins vineyards lie in the Rhône Valley, the foothills of the southern Alps rising in the distance. In these terroirs, sun-drenched vines swaying in the southern breeze, grow the renowned grape varieties that have made the Côtes du Rhône famous: Syrah, Grenache, Viognier and many others regional grapes.

Such diversity enables our winemakers to produce aromatic blended wines of great complexity. Among the Côtes du Rhône AOCs are 20 Côtes du Rhône Villages appellations, including the most well known: Plan de Dieu, Puyméras and Valréas. Exceptional terroirs produce the most illustrious Crus: Châteauneuf-du-pape, Vacqueyras, Vinsobres and Cairanne.

Our History

The Union of Côtes du Rhône winemakers – their story

Created in 1967, the Union of Côtes du Rhône winegrowers (UVCDR) brings together 2,300 winemaking families in the southern Rhône Valley. Its territory covers 12,500 hectares of vines and around 20 AOCs. Based on deeply human values, boldness, and diligence, the UVCDR exports to 50 countries, shipping 40 million bottles a year.

Cellier des Dauphins: quintessential Rhône Valley wines

Founded in 1967 by the UVCDR, Cellier des Dauphins has become the pride of our winemakers and risen to regional pre-eminence. Its delicious sun-drenched wines are highly esteemed and synonymous with the voluptuous south’s art de vivre. Over the years, its renown has grown driven by constant innovation.

Commitment to Sustainable Agriculture

Cellier des Dauphins winegrowers have launched eco-friendly initiatives designed to promote sustainable vineyards. Our goal is to ensure that our wines are environmentally-sound and economically strong. We are working to reduce our environmental footprint both in the vineyard (by meeting government sustainability criteria and earning the label Haute Valeur Environnementale) and by product waste reduction (eco-design, waste water treatment, recycling, solar energy production, etc.).

For many years now, Cellier des Dauphins has also promoted organic agriculture. Over 1,000 hectares are now organically farmed, for a range of Côtes du Rhône organic red, white, and rosé wines. In 2018 the brand launched an organic wine with no added sulphites.
