Cellier des Dauphins Unveils New Wines at Chengdu

The Chengdu Wine Fair, in the province of Sichuan, is China’s oldest and largest wine industry show. In March, Cellier des Dauphins and our Chinese partner, Easy Cellar, were present at Chengdu 2019 for a lavish unveiling of our new lines of wine.

Cellier des Dauphins enjoyed high visibility throughout the four days of the Chengdu Wine Fair and was spotlighted in two large displays in the Wanda Reign VIP stand. Chengdu presented the ideal opportunity to introduce our new AOC Côtes du Rhône Cellier des Dauphins Réserve reds to Easy Cellar’s sales and marketing staff and to announce the upcoming arrival in China of two fine vintages: Cellier des Dauphins Villages Plan de Dieu and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This event, held a few days before the Chengdu show, attracted droves of professionals from all over China. Inter Rhône held a master class on Rhône Valley wines that started on 17 March, offering tastings of several of our wines, among them, Cellier des Dauphins Réserve Reds, which is soon to become our brand’s flagship wine for our Beijing-based partner. On 19 March, at the Chengdu Sheraton, Easy Cellar held its high-profile promotional event, entirely dedicated to two of our lines: Les Dauphins, which already enjoy a hefty market presence in China, and the Réserve Reds, which our partner will begin distributing in the next few months.

Chinese wine-lovers have a deep appreciation for the richness and beauty of our Rhône Valley terroirs, as well as the Dauphiné region’s illustrious past. Thanks to the current popularity of Les Dauphins wines, Cellier des Dauphins was recognised, for its high standard of taste and quality, as one of the most trustworthy brands on the Chinese market.

Among the qualities dearest to the Chinese are generosity, festivity, and community spirit, values that Cellier des Dauphins also cherishes. We have designed our marketing campaign in China to spotlight precisely these shared values. The Chinese revere history, authenticity and innovation, and for 50 years now, the distinctive bottle shape of Cellier des Dauphins wines has expressed the continuity and history that has borne our brand image across the globe.

Already familiar to the Chinese, Cellier des Dauphins has the profile of a brand that is poised to flourish in the Far East. In short, our brand has a distinctive visual identity, a reputation for quality, rich French terroirs steeped in history, and an aromatic range of flavour that is particularly suited to the Chinese palette: qualities that surely account for the positive reception Cellier des Dauphins and Easy Cellar have so far received from local distributors. Our prospects look sunny indeed in China.
