Like every year, the harvest has begun with the « Ban des vendanges ». It’s the French administrative authorization to start harvesting the grapes. In the different villages of the Rhône Valley, it’s also an opportunity to celebrate and bring up to date centuries-old traditions.
2019 harvest was launched in early September for whites from the Southern Rhône Valley. In mid-September the harvest of red began, about ten days later than last year. Although the mildness of autumn and winter favored an early start of vegetation, cooler April and May slowed the vegetative growth of the vine.
Following a very hot and sunny summer, August brought beautiful diurnal temperature variation and favored the aromatic balance. Thanks to generous water falls in spring, the vine also kept enough water to survive drought episodes.
Results of 2019 Harvest: the grapes are in good health; the climatic conditions have not allowed significant development of mildew and others fungal diseases. The grapes are now ready to reveal their full potential, through excellent quality wines!
